Kathy Bruce, who lives and works in New York, was in residence in January and February 2018. She created a 3-meter high bamboo sculpture, “La Femme de Sinthian” (The Woman of Sinthian), on the laterite road that leads from Sinthian to the village of Saal. Kathy did not intend the sculpture to be a permanent installation but to last as long as weather and time permit.
Annie Maheux, a puppet maker from Montréal, Canada, worked with local children to craft puppets and create performances.
